Self-evaluation is a procedure to systematically observe, analyze and value own professional action and its results in order to stabilize or improve it. This can take place on an individual or on an organizational level.
Low self-esteem is a characteristic feature of depression. Self-evaluation is apparently part of the depressed patient’s pattern of viewing himself as deficient is those attributed that are specifically important to him; ability, performance, intelligence, health, strength, personal attractiveness, popularity, or financial resources.
They often feel incompetent, unloved, or inadequate. People who struggle with low self-esteem are consistently afraid about making mistakes or letting other people down.
Poor self-esteem can affect a person’s thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior. Sometimes these signs can be more apparent, but in some cases that can be much more subtle.
Some common signs of low self-esteem are: poor confidence, lack of control, negative social comparison, worry and self-doubt, social withdrawal, excessive preoccupation with personal problems.
Some of the many causes of low self-esteem may include: unhappy childhood, poor academic performance, ongoing stressful life event such as relationship breakdown or financial trouble, poor treatment from a partner or parent, ongoing medical problem, mental illness.

Depression commonly refers to a relatively transitory, negative mood experienced by human. The terms depression or depressed are used in both the ordinary, non-clinical sense and to refer specifically to pathology, especially when the mood of depression has reached a level of severity and/or duration that warrants a clinical diagnosis.
